Lake Fork Spring Solo Series 2012 - Event 3
Jr. Anglers shine at Lake Fork!
The turnouts at the Lake Fork Solo Series this Spring has been very encouraging, with many new members enjoying the free memberships and giving these events a try. Free membership and a low $80 entry fee can't be beat! But, add to that a chance to mentor a 16 year-old or younger junior angler in their own no-cost tournament, this series is truly a win-win! We want to continue to see these dads, uncles and grandfathers bringing out these youth for a fun day on the lake.
On that note, Marisa Cox sure schooled the boys on Sunday, weighing a solid 1.87lb bass that earned her a 1st Place plaque and a $50 gift card, courtesy of Fisherman's One Stop located on Hwy. 515 between the lake arms. Second place went to Chase Welch with a 1.53lb bass and taking the 3rd Place plaque was Andrew Mohler with his 1.35lb bass. Young Andrew boated 7 bass while fishing with his dad on Sunday!
Back to the grownups: Out of the 23 Solo Anglers that joined us, Tommy Sikes topped the field handily with a solid limit of unders weighing 10.64lbs, anchored by a 2.31 big bass of the tournament and earning him $600 plus the $110 BB award. Second place honors went to Don Robinson. Don said he boated somewhere around 40 bass on Sunday and culled up a 9.29lb limit worth $380. Third place went to Troy Rossman with a 9.12lb limit earning him $240. Wrapping up our top 4 was angler Jim Mohler with an 8.30lbs weigh-in that sent him home with $170 in his pocket!
It was a really great day of fishing and fellowship! Thanks to all of the anglers who continue to support our trails and we hope your making plans to join us soon!
Be Blessed!

Lake Fork Spring Teams Series 2012 - Event 4
A lot of wind, but the turnout continues to grow!
Wind was certainly no deterrent for today's 4th event in the Lake Fork Spring Teams Series! With a total of 24 teams fishing, this series continues to grow right along with the opportunity for fellowship with our families and friends!
The team of Jeremy Williams and Gordon Wells takes the win today with a 9.35lb limit of unders, earning them $1400 for their efforts. This was Jeremy's first polygraph test and he passed with flying colors, although he did say he was very nervous.
Rounding out the top 4 were:
Derek Grier and Dustin Hobbs in second place with 9.30lbs earning them $700, James Quillman and Thomas Sikes in third place with 8.96lbs earning them $350 and just edging out our fourth place winners, Justin Priest and Cassie Scheller, who weighed in at 8.95lbs and the Big Bass of the tournament earning them $300 plus $230 for BB.
It was a really great day and, if you missed it, there are still plenty of opportunities to wet a hook and enjoy some great fellowship! We look forward to seeing you!
Be Blessed!

Lake Tyler Spring Teams Series 2012 - Event 2

Great weather and a greater turnout!
A huge thanks to the 25 teams that joined us on Saturday, March 24th, for our largest turnout on record in this series! Good weather and converting this series into an all-Lake Tyler trail were the combination for getting folks out to fish.
Unfortunately, Lake Tyler fished tougher than I have ever experienced for our anglers. The fish were very scattered, likely due to the amount of new water that was entering the lake from recent rains. It was great to see that lake with some water in it, though and, with one more rain like last week, we may have a full Lake Tyler!
With 13 and 14 pound stringers taking the top 5 places, it was good to see one giant come across the scales. A 9.86 lb beast that was caught by 4th place team Jason Romero and Mark Everett.
Congratulations to our 1st place team, Mike Taylor & Jeff Woolridge, for their 14.59 lb stringer earning them $1000.00! Rounding out the remaining top five were Tom Mayne & David Beasley in 2nd with a 14.35 lb limit earning them $600, Shane Gibson & Ken Ratley in 3rd with a 13.79 lb limit earning them $410, Jason Romero & Mark Everett in 4th with a 13.69 lb limit and 9.86 lb BB earning them $300 + $240BB, and Chad Johnston & Ricky Sipes in 5th with a 13.45 lb limit earning them $180.
After posting the results for this event, it was brought to our attention that we failed to add a team that did not weigh any fish. This made our total entries 25 instead of 24 as originally calculated. With that said, we owe the Big Bass winners $10 and I have a check for Chad Johnston and Ricky Sipes for $180. Unfortunately, neither Chad nor Ricky left a phone number on their membership applications. If you see or talk to them, please tell them to give me a call so I can get their check on the way.
Hope to see you and more at our next 2012 Lake Tyler event on April 15th on Lake Tyler.
Be Blessed
Mark and Diane Howard
