First off let me
start out and
say Thank You to
the anglers who
joined us this
fall/winter on
Lake Texoma for
our first season
of conducting
tournaments in
that area. We
were blessed
with some great
anglers from
both Texas and
Oklahoma and are
looking forward
to our Spring
Teams Season
Opener March
7th, 2010.
A big thank you
also to Bill
Glascock and the
crew at Alberta
Creek Resort for
there
hospitality to
Diane and
myself.
Today's
tournament was a
rescheduled
event from the
artic blast on
Jan. 9th and was
the last of four
qualifiers for
the championship
coming up on
February 6, 2010
out of Alberta
Creek Resort.
While the
fishing was
tough overall as
it has been
since the artic
blast the team
with the hot
hand this
fall/winter was
able to boat the
only limit of
the event.
Congrats to Joe
Copeland and
Robert Mink for
their incredible
fall/winter
season. Joe and
Robert were able
to fish three of
the four
qualifiers and
managed to take
the win in all
three events
they fished.
Those wins were
anchored by an
incredible
Oklahoma Water
Body Record
largemouth bass
in October of
11.19lbs caught
by Joe Copeland,
while missing
the November
event Joe and
Robert came back
to win the
December event
with a 10.62
largemouth.
Prior to this
series Joe had
never broken the
10 pound mark
and in the last
of 2009 managed
to find 2 of
those monster
bass in two 8
hour events.
The Points Race
for AOY:
Going into this
last event the
points were
close between
the teams of
John Leeder/Brian
Gambil and Jeff
Reynolds/Joe
Paul Nichols.
John and Brian
had a 5.18
points and
pounds lead
going into this
last event and
with tough
fishing both
predicted and
expected we knew
it could be
anyone's game. A
big congrats to
both teams for
there ability to
fish
consistently and
maintain a tight
competition. In
the end it was
the team of Jeff
Reynolds and Joe
Paul Nicols who
edged there way
to the top by
1.16 points to
win the 2009
Fall/Winter
Texoma Anglers
of the Year
Title winning
them nice
plaques to
commemorate
their win and
free entry into
2010's fall
series.
CONGRATS Jeff

A GREAT SEASON
